Jena School Fair
The Jena School Fair takes place every two years in the odd-numbered calendar year. The next fair will be held on Saturday, 23.01.2027 from 10:00 to 14:00 in the Volkshaus Jena, Carl-Zeiß-Platz 15.
Jena's school landscape is constantly changing. In recent years, new schools have been founded, school types have changed and new school profiles have been developed. At the Jena School Fair, visitors can find out about the different types of schools and the various concepts of Jena's schools and talk to teachers and school administrators.
Exhibitor
All of Jena's state and independent elementary school, grammar schools, community and comprehensive schools regularly present themselves at the fair. In addition, all three state vocational schools in the city, an independent vocational school and the Thuringia International School Weimar and the "Talblick" Stiebritz elementary school from the Jena area are also present.
Staff from the Jena State Regional Support Center and the East Thuringia State Education Authority will be on hand at a stand to advise pupils with special educational needs. Other employees of the school authority, such as the advisors of the school types and the after-school care coordinator, will also be on site.
The Jena school administration will be on hand to answer all school-related questions for which the local authority is responsible, such as school registration or school transportation. The Family Service of the Citizens' Service provides information on after-school care fees and student grants (BAföG). The Jena Adult Education Center provides advice on external school-leaving qualifications and the Youth Employment Agency (JUBA) on the transition from school to work.
An overview of the current exhibiting schools and advice stands for 2027 can be found at the end of 2026 under Downloads.
