Child and youth study

Every two to three years since 1997, the city has commissioned a social science study among Jena schoolchildren. In 2017, "ORBIT", the Organizational Consulting Institute Thuringia e. V., was won as a partner.

Around 2,000 children and young people at secondary schools from year six onwards were asked about their interests and problems using a questionnaire. The comprehensive results are available for download.

Basis for the creation of the child and youth development plan

The study provides insights into the need for and use of child and youth work and youth social work services in accordance with Section 80 of the German Social Code VIII. It also maps the living conditions of children and young people in Jena, their leisure behavior and their problems. The results form the basis for drawing up the city of Jena's child and youth development plan, which is currently being updated.
