Educational conference "Transitions at the interfaces between school, vocational training and studies".

27.11.2019

With the format of the Education Conference, the City of Jena wants to involve educational actors in the shaping of the Jena educational landscape. The subject of this conference is the presentation and discussion of the Second Education Report of the City of Jena 2019 "Transitions at the interfaces between school, vocational training and university". In addition, a working paper is to be produced which will identify concrete recommendations for action at the interfaces between school, vocational training and university and will be presented to the political committees.

The education report was developed within the framework of the "Integrated Education" programme. The aim of the program, which the city of Jena has been implementing since 2016, is to establish a data-based municipal education management system. Empirical data on the field of lifelong education are processed by the city's education monitoring for Jena's politics, administration and civil society and made available, for example, in the form of education reports. On this basis, strategic objectives and educational policy priorities can be qualified together.

The report deals with graduations from general education schools in Jena, vocational orientation, vocational training and higher education. As cross-cutting issues, a special focus is placed on gender differences, migration background, special educational needs and disability, and regional mobility. In addition to the quantitative-descriptive presentation, the education report identifies potential for action in the field of transition for the city of Jena, which will be discussed at the Education Conference.
